What is Knowlege?

In the article “What is technology” by Stephen Kline the author makes a brief statement about how we use technology as a form of knowledge. The authors exact words are, “we use technology to denote methodology for accomplishing any given task”. This statement is quite accurate today because we use the technology that we have to answer any and all questions that we need answered. Technology is most popularly known for social media but being someone who has had access to the computer through all my years of schooling I have become more dependent on technology to help me better understand topics I felt were not being presented to me in a way that was best. Technology has given use more opportunity to further explore interests or curiosities in a more in-depth way because its fast and simple. Before computers or phones existed, people had to go to libraries to find information and solely relied on other people for their knowledge, whether it was newspapers, teachers, or parents. People now can learn more and accomplish more in a shorter time due to the fact we are heavily dependent on technology. We easily can google any questions, watch YouTube video’s or ted talks to better comprehend topic that are complex or confusing. Although being dependent is not always seen as a positive characteristic in this case we have been able to better transportation, communication, and production of goods due to technology. This has created a more efficient way of living. All in all, the technology is a huge resource of knowledge and a huge part of why we continue to grow as a society.
